What are the advantages of accumulation systems on production lines?
These are systems used in plants for the accumulation of products. The accumulation systems we offer have numerous advantages for the line:
- They serve as a buffer in the event of downstream line slowdowns or stoppages;
- They absorb production stops;
- They increase the efficiency of the line.
Vetromeccanica’s buffer systems are very versatile. They can be installed on both new and existing lines. Implementation on existing lines is required in the case of poor accumulation or in the case of increasing machine speed. It is therefore necessary to implement an ad hoc accumulation system.
What are the criteria for choosing the accumulation table to be implemented in the system?
Before implementing a storage table in a new or existing plant, it is necessary to carry out technical analyses in order to understand the correct system to implement.
To this end, Vetromeccanica’s engineering division works closely with the customer to gather and define all the necessary information.
First of all, the customer’s documentation is analyzed, then we move on to the technical analysis of the line and the study of the products being handled: container diameter and format, container stability, weight and rigidity of the products, container material (glass, Pet, HDPE, aluminum, etc.), line speed and layout.
Once all this information has been gathered, the engineering department proceeds to create the line layout with the accumulation system considered most suitable for the customer.

Mass Accumulation Table
Vetromeccanica’s ‘Mass’ accumulation system allows a large quantity of containers to be accumulated and to absorb any slowdowns and/or micro-stoppages caused by production mishaps or normal operator interventions during production.
What are its characteristics?
- This system has a large accumulation capacity; the table surface is almost 100% usable.
- The pressure inside the table is contained and minimizes the danger of crushing the containers.
- Ideal for different types of containers: PET, Glass, HDPE, Aluminum.
Merry-go-round accumulation table
This system is made up of modular chains arranged in parallel, some of which run in the opposite direction.
It is used to accumulate containers in a progressive manner, both when downstream machines slow down and when upstream machines accelerate.
What are its characteristics?
- During accumulation moments, some bottles are loaded onto chains that move in the opposite direction in order to reduce the pressure in the outlet section.
- This system safeguards the integrity of the product and the label by putting little pressure on the transported containers.
- Suitable for lines with high production speeds.
Mobile guide accumulation system
The accumulation table with motorized guide is characterized by FIFO operation and consists of 2 modular conveyors positioned parallel to each other in opposite directions. A special mobile motorized guide conveys the containers from one conveyor to the other following the production flow.
What are its features?
- This system is used to progressively accumulate product when there are slowdowns or stoppages of downstream machines.
- Accumulation is carried out without pressure on the product by adjusting the speeds in a relative manner between infeed conveyor, outfeed conveyor, mobile motorized guide.
- The absence of thrust or pressure in the handling of the containers allows accumulation of the containers without friction or pressure between them.
Single lane dynamic accumulation table
The accumulation table consists of two modular chains positioned in parallel and a special motorized carriage that moves back and forth, lengthening and shortening the accumulation on the line.
We offer two product variants of this type, depending on the size of the container handled:
- Single-wire accumulation table for large formats (from 2 litres to 12 litres);
- Single-wire accumulation table for small formats (up to 2 litres).
And according to production speed:
- The ‘Smart’ single-thread Accumulation Table for speeds up to 25m/min.
- The ‘High Performance’ single-thread Accumulation Table for speeds of up to 60m/min.
What are its features?
- The dynamic single-wire accumulation system is designed for safe and shaped bottle handling.
- Thanks to its operation without pressure on the product, it is suitable for the accumulation of containers of all types and materials, whether full or empty, unstable or delicate.
- The design is modular (up to 4 modules) and depending on the line speed or the required accumulation several tables can be installed side by side.
Parallel lanes accumulation table
This FIFO accumulation system consists of a structure with parallel ways equipped with independently motorized chains. Motorized trolleys at the entrance and exit of the table accompany the containers as they move from the belt to the accumulation table and vice versa.

What are its features?
- It has a modular design, which can be configured according to the needs of the containers handled and the productivity required.
- It adapts flexibly to the different formats handled: small bottles up to 2 L at high speeds and 6 to 12 L at lower speeds.
- It is a system specially designed for the accumulation of unstable and shaped containers (square, rectangular, round, etc.) and any type of material (PET, HDPE, GLASS, Aluminum), suitable for many sectors such as Beverage, Wine & Spirits, Dairy, Edible Oil, Food, Home and Personal Care.
